🏆 GitHub Foundations Certification Not Syncing to Dashboard

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for some assistance regarding my GitHub Foundations Certification sync. I successfully passed the exam via Pearson VUE, and the credential is fully visible and verified on my Microsoft Learn Transcript.

However, my GitHub Learning Dashboard still shows "No certifications yet," even though it has been a couple of days since I passed.

Technical Context & Troubleshooting Done:

• Email Alignment: My GitHub Primary Email is set to my @outlook.com address, which is the exact same identity used for the exam. My @gmail.com address is verified and added as a secondary.
• Account Linking: My GitHub account is explicitly linked within my Microsoft Learn settings.
• The Identity Gap: interestingly, learn.github.com correctly pulls my full name from the Microsoft side, but the GitHub.com profile credentials tab remains at empty.
• Migration Knowledge: I am aware the system no longer uses Credly and has moved to the direct Microsoft integration, but the "handshake" between the two platforms seems to be failing.

It’s quite discouraging to see my personal dashboard empty after completing the path. Has anyone else experienced a sync delay specifically after aligning their primary email to match their MS Identity? Is there a way to trigger a manual refresh of this data?

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!

Hi! This is a known sync issue that a few people have reported after the migration from Credly to the Microsoft integration.
A few things that have helped others resolve it:

Sign out and sign back in to both learn.github.com and github.com, then wait 24 hours — sometimes the sync just needs a fresh session to trigger.
Check that your primary email on GitHub exactly matches the email used on your Microsoft Learn/Pearson VUE account — even a small difference can break the handshake.
Try disconnecting and reconnecting your GitHub account from Microsoft Learn settings, then wait a few hours.
If none of that works, contact GitHub Support at support.github.com and mention the Microsoft Learn sync issue specifically — they can manually trigger the credential sync on their end.

The sync can sometimes take up to a week in edge cases, so don't panic yet. But if it's been more than a week, definitely escalate to support.
